Exchange 2007 OWA Light and a "Sending" problem
Hi all My instituiton use OWA Premium and OWA light extensively, we probably use the latter the most. I have a very odd issue where a user, using OWA LIGHT, connects to a wireless network on his laptop, and when he then composes an Email and tries to send it he gets a red banner with the following text in it: ""you do not have permission to send messages from this mailbox"" This is naturally very odd because he is logged in as HIMSELF. If he plugs into his home router or the corporate LAN, then there is no problem. I am scouring through my ISA logs to see if there is anything that can be gleaned from the traffic he generates, but I am a bit stumped as to what could be affecting this. HOW can the conduit you use to obtain an Internet connection, have ANY bearing on the permission you have to your Exchange mailbox!! Anyone got any clue where to look on this one? p.s. The "FROM" box is not avalable in OWA light so you are not actually able to select a different "Sender" address even if you DO have SendAs access for it...in case anyone thought that might be a possibility :-)

Hi Milardus Can you tell me the difference from Wireless and corporate Lan and explain your network in details. Is there any hardware firewall or software security server (ISA,antivirus, etc)on your wireless Lan. The article is to troubleshoot OWA rules on ISA 2006. Maybe it will be helpful to you. http://blogs.technet.com/b/isablog/archive/2008/04/29/troubleshooting-owa-2007-publishing-rules-on-isa-server-2006.aspx

Hi Millardus, Any update for your issue? It sounds odd, could you please make more tests to confirm it. Regards! Hi Gavin No, the person in question is impossible to get hold of, which makes me suspicious of the behavior he reports. Admittedly, the fact he DOES get this sending issue within OWA (As seen on a screenshot) is in itself very peculiar. Thanks for checking up though.

Hi Millardus, The information you referred is difficult to confirm the issue how caused. Could you please make some tests use the mailbox personally? What is result? We could also to check the IIS log and the MSexchangemailsubmission log of the mailboxserver to confirm the issue. Regards!
